Principia SGR acquires a 45% stake from Fondo Italiano di Investimento and from Recomec, holding company controlled by the Zanelli family.
Fondo Italiano di Investimento SGR has announced the sale of its 33% stake in Comecer, a company based in Castel Bolognese (Ravenna) specializing in nuclear medicine.
Principia SGR acquired the interest and also acquired a further 12% from Recomec, holding company controlled by the Zanelli family. Recomec still control the company with 55%. The transaction was defined by Principia III - Health, the first Italian Venture Capital and Growth Capital fund, specifically dedicated to the Healthcare sector.
Marco Polo Advisor acted as Co-advisor of Recomec, cooperating with Lazard the financial advisor of the transaction. Legal advisor of Principia SGR was Bonelli Erede while Comecer was supported by the lawyers of DLA Piper.
Italian Fund had invested in Comecer in May 2011, subscribing a capital increase designed to provide the company with the financial resources needed for a growth plan through acquisitions. The plan was implemented through the acquisitions of 100% of the Dutch Veenstra Instrumenten Bv and the Czech Brita Trade Sro in April and May 2012.
